The previous director of a social enterprise firm which employed blind and disabled individuals has denied allegations that he defrauded his staff’ pensions.
Nicholas Marks appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Courtroom this week charged with one depend of fraud by abuse of place in relation to staff of Readability Merchandise Ltd, and an extra depend in respect of staff of Lunar Automotive Ltd.
Readability Merchandise was a cleaning soap and toiletries producer and social enterprise. It bought merchandise below the Cleaning soap Co and Beco manufacturers. It’s believed that Readability, which went into liquidation, employed about 80 staff.
The fees towards Mr Marks have been introduced below Part 4 of the Fraud Act 2006, in a prosecution introduced by The Pensions Regulator.
Mr Marks, 56, of Heath Highway, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, has pleaded not responsible to each expenses.
A plea and trial preparation listening to has been mounted for Wednesday 8 Might on the Central Legal Courtroom.Â
